Marcel Rochas was one of the most talented and successful designers of his age. In the 1920's, with French haute couture at its zenith, he created feminine designs for Hollywood stars like Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, Katherine Hepburn, and Carole Lombard. In 1944, he married a very beautiful girl, Hélène, and presented her with a new perfume named Femme, (made for Rochas by renowned perfumer Edmond Roudnitska) as a wedding present. At first, Femme was offered to Rochas' primarily celebrity clientele by strict invitation only, in limited numbered bottles, stirring quite a demand. After World War II ended, Femme was put into commercial production and was met with immediate success.Femme by Rochas is a brilliant, full-bodied, classic chypre floral fragrance. Long-lasting and easy to wear.
